Day #27

I WON!  Now to export it to word, finesse it and upload it to CreateSpace.com so I can order a proof on Tues. when they give the special free code.  I am Soooo ahead of the game…it took me 6 months last year to upload it.  And I have a deadline of the first day of spring to have it edited.  Then, seeking an agent/publisher…

Day #26

Happy Thanksgiving.  It is 7:38.  Plan for the day:  get myself set up for the writing, eat breakfast, write, go to the gym, come home,  cook,  shower and dress, go to dinner.

AND.   If I can SOMEHOW write 2400 words I can be done.  Reality check—just write half of that and be done tomorrow!  Or, maybe done on Saturday, since we are leaving VERY early tomorrow to go and visit Gini and Bob in PA.  So we will see.  I will be done on either the 26 or the 27^th or the 28^th.  One of those.

10:05—1647  Been adding to the scene where they have the jealous fight.  And I am now less than 1000 words away from finishing.

My plan is to stop now and finish on Sat., which is the 28^th.  Then on that day I will have time to do the upload and get to be a winner!

Day #25

8:25 AM –987 words and now I have to stop because we have to get ready to go into the city to get our hair cut!

Came back and worked some more.  Did 1546 words.  The struggle continues!

Day #24

Did not start this until after 1 PM today.

Had to get up very early for my yearly physical exam, which this time included Hep B shot for India.   I was exhausted, did not get enough sleep and had to go without my usual tea and breakfast, so I felt even worse.

Then, I had to go food shopping at both Mrs. Greens and Stop n Shop for TG stuff and just general provisions.

So I got a very late start and I am very tired.  AND I never got to think of more viable scenes to write,  so I have just been filling in some ideas here and there which is all to say that it is now almost 3 o’clock and I am done although my word count is 1372 for the day.  That means I am still 4,000 words away from finishing.  If I could have two good days of 2000 words each that would be it.  Of course I am still way ahead of the game.   We’ll see…

Day #23

7:20 AM   Up way too early to drop C at the train at 6:20.  Jeez.  But maybe I can write now and not even know it because I am barely awake!  Only have about an hour because I have to shower and dress for eye doctor appt.  Then I am going up to the JV Mall to get some of the gifts for the family we have adopted and to donate my old jacket.

Plan to work on expanding the scenes of them traveling from the village.

8:09—800 words   Have to go for now.  Back later.

1:33  I  want to make my word count and break 45,000 today, but this is really hard right now.  I have run out of scenes to write…

OK, I will get a cup of tea and see if I can think of anything else to write.  Otherwise I will leave if for today and continue tomorrow.

SO is being good to myself writing more, or finishing for the day????

I am obsessed with the semi-negative thought pattern that I am really mostly Telling, not Showing.

Oh well, I suppose that is what editing and editors are all about.

Going to stop for today and do art.

And 46 years since Kennedy was shot.

9AM  Reseaching the tsar and that time period.

He was murdered at ekaterinburg Russia

496 words at 9:43.  Having a LOT of trouble today.  I do not know what to write about.  I will take a break now.

11:25—2000 words.  Phew.  That was very hard.  I had to make up a whole chapter about an invented jealous fight that they had.

7 AM  Have some bits and pieces to get down before breakfast.

7:41—1024 words.  Have to make breakfast now so I can eat with C before she leaves.

9 AM—1711  Have to get ready for kinesis

9:09  Thought of something else so another 100 words

1811 for today.  This will be all for today.  I am still way ahead of the game.  Now if I can just think of what to write for the last 9,000 words…I have some ideas.  See what happens.

8:40  A bit of trouble getting started today.  I am doing everything under the sun except starting to write.  I went to Amazon and put things in my shopping cart. I answered email.  I did some more on-line research on ships reaching Ellis I. from Istanbul in 192l…okay, related, but not writing…Did you know that you can get a subscription for Good Earth Green Tea at Amazon…STOP IT!!!

Ok.  So I will begin. Now.  Ok.  So.  DO IT!!!   (This does not sound like I am being gentle with myself…)  Ok, sweet woman, do your writing.  Use your gift.

Day #19

Started at about 7:30 and now it is 8:30 and I have to get ready to go to my knitting class.  I have 882 words, and I will have to finish when I get back.

 

Some interesting discussion with my mother yesterday about details of her mother’s illness which I will use for writing those scenes.

 

Also contacted cousin Joan by email, and she was not that helpful but I did get a few ideas from what she told me.

 

Expanded the  scene where they decide to use sibling passports to go to America.  Inspired by the scene in “Melting Siberia” where they are all sitting around the table having a scene of great Russian tragedy and emotion.
